Certified Medication Technician (CMT)
This 68-hour course prepares Certified Nurse Assistants to administer medications to residents in long-term care settings. Training includes 60 classroom hours and 8 supervised clinical hours. Upon successful completion, students take the State of Missouri exam to become a Certified Medication Technician.
This 6-week training program includes preparation, administration of medications, infection control and safety, observation, reporting and recording of side effects, and storage of medications.
Requirements: To be eligible for the Certified Medication Technician Training Program, students must be:

Active on the Missouri CNA register for a minimum of 6 months

Must provide a letter of recommendation from the Administrator or Director of Nursing of a sponsoring facility

Provide a copy of high school diploma or GED

Score at least 85% on TABE Test given first day

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
MEDS' Direct Care Paraprofessional training will prepare students to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in as little as 6 weeks. By combining 75 hours of classroom instruction with 100 hours of "hands on" direct care training, students will have the skills and knowledge to enter one of the fastest growing professions in the healthcare industry.
Students learn basic nursing skills to meet the needs of their patients. Classroom instruction incorporates interesting demonstrations and simulations with state-of-the-art medical training equipment and lively classroom discussions and presentations by industry professionals.
Some of the skills and techniques students learn include vital signs, infection control, restorative care, bathing and grooming, transfers, feeding and nutrition, medical record documentation, residents rights.
The Staff 'N' Student Mentoring program partners students with a seasoned professional for 100 hours of direct care experience. When students take the State of Missouri exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant, they feel confident in their skills and abilities and go on to enjoy a successful, rewarding career as a direct care paraprofessional.

Certified Restorative Nurse Aide (CRNA)
This 90-hour course prepares Certified Nurse Assistants for employment as aides in restorative and rehabilitation therapy settings. Restorative therapy aides work in the therapy department under the supervision of a therapist or registered nurse in hospitals, long-term care and clinical settings.
This 6 week training program includes 60 classroom hours and 30 clinical hours under the direction of qualified physical therapists in long-term care facilities. Upon successful completion, students take the State of Missouri exam to become a Certified Restorative Nurse Aide.
Students learn ambulation and transfer, range of motion assessment and management, activities of daily living, bed and wheelchair positioning, and criteria for referrals to therapy.
